PGAdmin is freezing in Linux

Enrironment: PGAdmin III, Ubuntu 14.x on different machines.

Symptoms: PGAdmin hangs, window grayed. Sometimes it happens occationally when connecting to DB, more often – when opening table properties or SQL queries window.

Solution: remove PGAdmin queries history file

rm ~/.pgadmin_histoqueries

1	rm ~/.pgadmin_histoqueries

Cancel postgres process

Show list of active processes to see pid there

SELECT query, * FROM pg_stat_activity where state = 'active'

1	SELECT query, * FROM pg_stat_activity where state = 'active'

Cancel the process by pid

select pg_cancel_backend(<pid>)

1	select pg_cancel_backend(<pid>)
